Verona and its vintage market

Every first Sunday of the month San Zeno square and the streets nearby come alive with the vintage, antiques and modern art market. If you too love original pieces that tell a story, you cannot miss it.

Among old books we found a Twentieth Century artistic guide of Verona, together with an illustrated map of the old town. The book included some information about Via San Paolo and we discovered that the tramway once ran in front of Veronalodge… and that Corso Porta Nuova was called Corso Cangrande.

Our advice is to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds and browse around the stalls of furniture, music, prints, clothes and vintage jewellery before the locals, so as to enjoy the the typical neighbourhood of San Zeno. A visit to the awesome Basilica with its fascinating Romanic cloister and an aperitif in one of the many restaurants overlooking Piazza San Zeno or Piazza Bacanal, will complete your experience!

Time goes by but the charm of Verona remains unchanged, if you wish you can discover it by staying in one of our apartments and being inspired by our stories, tips and curiosities.
