5 things you cannot miss in Verona on Christmas 2023

Are you planning to spend a few days in Verona during the next Christmas holidays? That’s a brilliant idea! There is a special, vibrant atmosphere in the city with its sparkling lights and festive decorations in this period of the year. These are 5 things you must see when you are in the city centre:

- New Star in Piazza Bra, a Christmas light installation replacing the huge sculpture designed by Architect Rinaldo Olivieri, now under renovation. Ask the Veronese what they think about this new entry!

- Christmas Market in Piazza dei Signori and Cortile del Mercato Vecchio https://www.nataleinpiazza.it/2023: spices scents and Alpine food, a lot of decorations and handcrafted gift products in cooperation with Nuremberg's Christkindmarkt. Open until December, 26th

- Exhibition “Presepi dal Mondo” https://www.presepiarenaverona.it in the Grand Guardia Palace until January, 14th. This display of nativity scenes from all over the world is already in the Guinness of Records' Book. We also suggest having a look at the wonderful nativity scene with life-sized statues in the Filippini church: it's only a stroll away from Veronalodge and the entrance here is free!

- Ice skating rink in the public gardens by the Arsenal: skating along river Adige and seeing Castelvecchio bridge is so cool! It will be open until Valentines' Day.

- Pandoro: not only the famous Christmas cake invented over 120 years ago in Verona. Look for the building in Corso Portoni Borsari with the sign Melegatti, it used to be the original pastry shop https://www.melegatti.it/en/our-roots/. If you look up, you will notice little sculptures with the typical shape of a star.

We send you our warmest season's wishes.
